I was going to write you about a great show – my overall favourite in Munich – which I saw on my last day there: GlAmour! I’m so happy it was the conclusion to my Schmuck week, as it inspired me and confirmed some of my ideas on the power of ornament.

I also attach some pictures to this email – I was overwhelmed by the beauty. By how the jewellery echoed the space and vice-versa, as in a never-ending game of mirrors: I don’t know who put it all together, but it was such a sensitive, carefully thought out exhibition. The ornament as jewellery, the ornament as space and architecture, the ornament as sound in the voice of the actor who read the quotes, but also the ornamental quality of the plastic, industrially produced boxes where the jewellery was kept.

It made me happy.
